Positions in the Hospitality & Tourism field can last from 8 weeks to 6 months. Positions in the Business sector will typically last for 3 to 12 months.

Visas and Documentation
European Citizens don't need any kind of visa in order to do an internship in Italy.
For the U.S. citizens or Canadians traveling on regular passports for tourism or business will be sufficient if your stay is less than 90 days.
Those planning to stay for a longer period will be in need to obtain a visa in advance of arrival.
